| University of North Florida graduate Jacob Enlow earned his bachelor's degree in music education and has served as a music educator with Duval County Public Schools since 2017. He currently serves as the band director at Westview K-8. Mr. Enlow's teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that music education fosters discipline, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. He maintains high standards of musicianship while cultivating a supportive and inclusive learning environment in which students feel empowered to take creative risks and achieve personal growth. He emphasizes the importance of consistent practice, attention to detail, and collaboration as foundational elements not only of musical achievement, but also of character development. In performance settings, he encourages students to prioritize expression and musical communication, reinforcing the idea that music is a shared and interactive experience between performer and audience. As a performer, Mr. Enlow has appeared with the First Coast Wind Symphony and the Crescendo Amelia Big Band. He has additionally played in other ensembles as a substitute throughout the First Coast region. In 2022, he became a member of the Clay County Community Band, where he plays the saxophone in both the Jazz Ensemble and the Concert Band. |
