Self-Screening Prior to ALL Band Events:

To reduce the potential risk of spreading a virus while rehearsing or attending a performance, each member of the CCCB will review the following questions prior to each event:

·         Have you, or a person you have been in close contact with, been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days? (close contact  is defined as 6 feet or less for more than 10 - 15 minutes.)

·         Have you experienced any cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 72 hours (to include fever, shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea)?

·         Have you traveled to an international or domestic “hot spot” in the last 14 days?

If the answer to any of the above is “YES," the CCCB member should stay at home and not attend that practice or performance so they do not potentially expose other members of the band.

Policy for Rehearsals

CCCB will follow the current guidelines published by the US CDC and the Clay County School Board regarding requirements for wearing face-coverings.

EDIT: As of July 27, 2021, CDC Guidelines for ALL individuals, regardless of vaccination status, recommend masks for public indoor settings. All band members must wear a mask to enter rehearsal. Once seated and rehearsal starts, you may remove your mask to play. When not playing, masks should be on.

Based on current data from the CDC, keeping the HVAC system on, even if it is just the fan circulating air in the room, can reduce the exposure-risk by 80 – 95%.  If possible, we will follow this recommendation.

The band will supply hand sanitizing stations that contain at least 60% ethanol or 70% isopropyl alcohol at each entrance to the band room, music room, and office.  Members should practice good hygiene and utilize hand sanitizers when entering and exiting the various rooms.

Band members will be encouraged not to linger or socialize inside the band room before or after practice.  Socializing outside reduces the potential spread of aerosol droplets almost to zero!

Policy for Performances

The protocol and requirements for playing at our performances will be established by the venue.  The CCCB Board will evaluate each venue's requirements and will communicate this to band members, at which time membership may be called upon to vote whether to accept or reject the concert request.

Rehearsal hygiene practices will apply to performances.

***Each band member who attends a rehearsal or performance will agree to follow these protocols as part of their commitment to protect the safety and health of all members and the audience.***
